PETITION

THIS DA WAS REFUSED BY COUNCIL
REFUSED BY THE PLANNING PANEL
REFUSED BY THE LEC
but the developer has decided to try again -
despite overwhelming community objections
despite a resounding council rejection ,
despite so many refusal reasons by the Planning Panel ,
despite the Commissioner of the LEC refusal
Thank you for the enormous community support
Replacing a wildlife corridor, with 5 acres of 7 buildings, 3 storey apartments, with all associated noise, bright lights and traffic IS NOT in the public interest
3 storey apartments are entirely inappropriate to the character of Bayview
Saving Wildlife Corridors & Vulnerable Species IS in the public interest
This Development proposal is in the wrong place
Together with our local petition letter we have already received -
over 78,000 signatures

Determination of the 2nd SCC Application was made by the NSW Planning & Environment
on 27th March 2017. Unbelievably that SCC was Approved to proceed to a DA even though
there were clear legal, scale and environmental issues with this proposal.
The DA was refused , by Council, the Planning Panel and the LEC.
That 2nd SCC expired in March 2019
However - the developer has decided to try again and re-submitted a new SCC application, with a very similar proposal as that which was reject by the LEC, to the Department of Planning Industry and Environment (DPIE).
Wildlife Corridors were created to allow Fauna to move freely between Habitats.
Any proposed residential development of Units on Bayview Golf course would prevent wildlife from moving between the coast at Winnererremy Bay Mona Vale and major habitat areas around Katandra Bushland Sanctuary and Nangana Road Bayview.
This Third new SCC application should be rejected by the Department of Planning.
There are many reasons why this application should be refused
This 3rd attempt for approval for a major building development was made in September 2019 on this very important Wildlife & Coastal corridor by using an SCC to try to REZONE OPEN SPACE land, that would completely cut this High Priority Wildlife Corridor (Map 9 Pittwater Council website) , isolating fauna from their feeding area in the remnant trees.
Over 100 old remnant trees would be removed plus other trees totalling 252 to be removed for this proposal.
Many Threatened and Endangered Native species owe their survival
to these Wildlife Corridors and they need the habitat for feeding and protection .
We don't need High Rise apartments on OPEN SPACE.
Any further development in these Wildlife Corridors should be stopped -
Any further development in High Risk Bush Fire Prone areas should be stopped -
particularly such over-developments like the ones in Bayview & others across Sydney.
The release in Ingleside precinct was cancelled due to severe bush fire risks.
Fire evacuation risks for existing residents increase dramatically with such additional Seniors Housing villages
